Nepalese vendor of bone, bamboo and horn clasps and of Lokta fiber handmade papers
Marie-Céleste of DHP began an email correspondence with Chino Crafts in about 1999. We purchased bone clasps and Nepalese Lokta papers through Chino and their contacts. We've continued our correspondence with the managing director, Mr. Bindu Adhikary over the years trying to help them figure out ways of tapping into the U.S. market.

On a personal note, Marie-Céleste's then-husband visited Kathmandu on business in 2000-2001 who met with Mr. Adhikary. Mr. Adhikary was gracious enough to take him on a tour of his factory and the report on the factory and craftsmen was a positive one.

We're happy to say that Mr. Adhikary visited NYC in 2006 and he brought samples of bone, horn and bamboo clasps in addition to paper samples to The Center for Book Arts (August 29).
